Straight answers to the things people ask before they start invoicing with MyWorkBase.
MyWorkBase is invoicing and CIS software for UK trades. It runs in your web browser, so you can quote, invoice and get paid from your phone, tablet or PC, with VAT and CIS worked out for you and every record your accountant needs kept safe for Making Tax Digital.
Invoicing is free forever. Two paid add-ons, Making Tax Digital and Workforce Pro, are there for when your business needs them. MyWorkBase is a product of Azury Digital & Tech Solutions Ltd, and it was shaped inside an accountancy firm - the About page tells the story.
UK sole traders, tradespeople and small trade businesses, including company directors, who want to send a proper invoice in minutes and keep every record that matters without paying a penny for the invoicing.
You do not need to be VAT registered or work under CIS. Both are optional: leave them off and you get fast, clean invoicing, then switch them on the day your business needs them.
Invoicing is £0, forever. The Making Tax Digital add-on is £9.99 a month and Workforce Pro is £19.99 a month. You can take the free plan on its own, or add either add-on or both.
Prices are in pounds sterling. Azury Digital is not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is added. Paid add-ons are billed through Stripe, and we never see or store your card details. The pricing section has the full breakdown, and our terms cover billing and renewals.
Yes. Unlimited invoices and quotes, customers, expenses and records, VAT and CIS worked out for you, and a professional PDF with your logo on it, all for £0. It is not a trial that expires, and you do not need to enter a card to start.
You only pay if you choose to add Making Tax Digital or Workforce Pro, and you can cancel either in the app.
Making Tax Digital is HMRC's way of reporting for the self-employed: digital records and a summary of income and expenses every quarter, instead of one tax return a year. The add-on keeps you in that rhythm. Every invoice and expense you record lands in the right quarter's income, expenses and profit, each quarter's HMRC dates sit on one screen with the next one flagged, and you get a reminder before each deadline.
One button sends the quarter's figures, bank statements and receipts to your accountant in one go, and the year total stays current right through to the final declaration. It is built for sole traders and costs £9.99 a month. Our guide to MTD for sole traders explains who it applies to and when.
Workforce Pro is for when you pay people: CIS subcontractors, PAYE workers or self-employed help. Record what you paid a subcontractor with the labour and materials split and the CIS deduction is worked out for you. It produces one CIS statement per subcontractor for each tax month, plus remittance advice, ready to send, and keeps your CIS300 figures ready: gross, deducted and paid totals for every HMRC tax month, 6th to 5th.
Everyone you pay is tracked in one place, and you can switch on filing reminders before each month's CIS deadline. It costs £19.99 a month. If CIS is new to you, start with our guides to CIS deductions and CIS statements.
MyWorkBase prepares the figures and keeps the records: the quarterly income and expense summaries, the CIS deductions, the statements and the CIS300 totals. Filing with HMRC stays with you or your accountant, so you remain in control of what is submitted.
It is a tool, not an accountant or tax adviser. You remain responsible for your own tax affairs, and we recommend having your figures reviewed by your accountant.
You do not need an accountancy degree to use it. It is written in plain English throughout and the app does the working out: VAT, CIS deductions, quarterly totals and who owes you what.
Because it is a tool rather than a tax adviser, we do recommend having your figures reviewed by an accountant, and MyWorkBase is built with that in mind. The records your accountant needs are kept as you go, and the Making Tax Digital add-on can send a quarter's figures, statements and receipts to them in one go.
Yes. Add-ons are switched on when you are ready and switched off in the app whenever you like. A paid add-on renews automatically until you cancel; cancel at any time to stop future renewals and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
Your free invoicing carries on regardless. Our terms have the detail on payment and cancellation.
It works on your phone, and there is nothing to download. MyWorkBase runs in the browser on an iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet, Windows laptop or the home PC. Sign in on any device and it is the same account and the same records, always up to date.
That is why it is not on the App Store or Google Play: there are no updates to install and no app store in the way. If you would like it on your home screen, it can be installed to your device as a progressive web app.
In the United Kingdom, on infrastructure certified to ISO/IEC 27001, the international standard for information-security management, so it stays within UK data-protection law. Every connection is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS, your data is backed up automatically every hour to encrypted, off-site storage, and each business's records are isolated so you only ever see your own.
Passwords are never stored in readable form, and card payments are handled by Stripe, so your card details never touch our servers. The Security page sets out every measure in plain terms.
You own the data you enter, and we never sell it. When you store details about your own customers or subcontractors, you are the data controller and we act only as your data processor, handling that data on your instructions to provide the service.
The website uses no advertising or tracking cookies, and the app uses a single functional token to keep you signed in. You can ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be corrected or erased, by emailing info@azurydigital.co.uk. Our Privacy Policy has the detail.
